FamilyAssistant is a private household AI assistant built with Hermes Agent. This policy explains how it handles information when providing Gmail and Google Calendar assistance.
With the account owner’s authorization, FamilyAssistant accesses email and calendar information when needed to carry out requests. This may include email contents, sender and recipient addresses, and calendar event titles, times, descriptions, locations, and participants.
This information is used to read, send, and delete Gmail messages and to view, create, and delete Google Calendar events. Sending email shares its contents with the chosen recipients. Calendar actions may share event information with participants according to the event’s settings.
Email and calendar content needed for assistance is sent to OpenAI for processing using GPT-6-Sol. FamilyAssistant does not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
OpenAI’s handling of submitted information depends on the service, account settings, and applicable terms. For the OpenAI API, OpenAI states that data is not used to train its models by default unless the customer explicitly opts in. The operator has not confirmed the training/data-sharing settings of this particular connection, so this policy does not represent a verified provider-wide no-training guarantee. FamilyAssistant does not retain accessed email/calendar content or conversation logs after processing a request. This describes the assistant’s own handling of content, not the retention practices of Google or OpenAI, and is not a claim that connection credentials are never stored.
Original messages and events remain in the connected Google accounts unless an action changes or deletes them. OpenAI may retain submitted content under its applicable service terms and settings. Its API documentation describes default abuse-monitoring retention of up to 30 days, subject to exceptions, and additional storage for some features. No provider-side zero-retention guarantee is made here.
Google OAuth is used to authorize access to connected accounts. You can stop future access by removing FamilyAssistant in your Google Account connections settings. Revoking access does not undo completed actions or automatically delete information held by service providers.
